Egg-Citing Fun at Life as Dinosaurs Take Over the Science Centre!

Easter just got Jurassic at Newcastle’s Life Science Centre (Life).

The Great Dinosaur Escape at Life includes the largest collection of animatronic dinosaurs in the north of England and it’s creating a dino-sized stir!

Over 20 ultra-realistic, full-scale animatronic dinosaurs, including a three tonne, 9 metre long roaring T.rex, are housed in a large enclosure…the size of one and a half tennis courts!

The collection has been developed by Dinosaurios Mexico, and this is its first appearance in the UK.

But a few of the prehistoric creatures have “escaped” and are hiding in the science centre.

Families visiting over the Easter holidays can expect roar-some fun as they are invited to become Dino Rangers and using a specially created trail, crack the code that will secure the dinosaur enclosure!

The Great Dinosaur Escape is much more than a standard dinosaur exhibition as there are also dinosaur-themed live shows, hands-on making activities and experiments, all included in a science centre ticket.

And the Easter fun doesn’t stop there – keep your eyes peeled across the city as the Life team are hiding special eggs with partners including Tyneside Cinema, the Baltic and Grainger Market, filled with a mini dinosaur plush toy and a family ticket to the science centre.

It’s the perfect egg-sploration for curious minds over the Easter holidays. Whether you're a budding palaeontologist or just looking for a dino-mite day out, there’s something for everyone.
