Edinburgh Fringe smash-hit show for families comes to Sage Gateshead this Half Term!

Sage Gateshead has Half Term fun lined up for families this May with Edinburgh Fringe smash-hit show!

Audiences can enjoy a performance of the Edinburgh Fringe smash-hit show for ages 6 and over, Anatomy of the Piano (for beginners), written and performed by Will Pickvance and directed by Magda Dragan with illustrations by Tim Vincent-Smith on Sunday 28 May (2pm).

The energetic show follows Will, who dreams of being an astronaut. He asks Father Christmas for a spaceship – and gets a piano! Adventure with him into the world of pianos – where they come from; how they evolved; and why they make a pretty cool Christmas present. Featuring Bach's cave piano, Beethoven's bad moods and a jam with jazz legend 'Fats' Waller.

An enchanting escapade to delight the whole family, with a unique blend of interactive storytelling and songs, hand-drawn projections, whirlwind live piano playing and plenty of audience participation for a Half Term treat. Tickets are priced from £7.60 with family tickets available.

Little fingers will also be kept busy with fun (and pocket-friendly!) Half Term Arts and Crafts on the Concourse (Saturday 27 May –Sunday 4 June, 11am-2pm) – completely free!

Alongside the fantastic selection of performances and family events coming up this Summer, customers are always welcome to pop in to Sage Gateshead for a cuppa and slice of cake in the family-friendly Sir Michael Straker Café where little ones can play in the interactive playspace on the Concourse. Children’s portions are available on many dishes in the cafe and special themed menus are frequently available.

The May-August 2017 ‘For Families’ guide is out now. To find out more about these family activities download the guide online, or, to book tickets please book online at sagegateshead.com, or visit Sage Gateshead’s Ticket Office either in person (open from 12noon) or by calling 0191 443 4661.
