Dakwala Bombay Canteen Unveils Vibrant Junefest Menu to Celebrate a Busy Month in the City

Newcastle is set to welcome a wave of excitement this month, as thousands flock to the city for a packed schedule of major music shows, exciting events, and the iconic return of The Hoppings. Adding to the energy, Dakwala Bombay Canteen is giving visitors even more reason to celebrate with the launch of Junefest – a limited-edition summer menu created especially for the city’s busiest and most exciting month.

• To celebrate all things happening in and around the city this month, Bombay-inspired restaurant, Dakwala Bombay Canteen is launching a one-off menu with dishes from seaside street eats to the hidden spice stalls of Crawford Market served from 1^st – 30^th June 2025. 
• With tens of thousands expected to visit the city throughout the month for events including Sam Fender at St. James’ Park, Plate Day at Newcastle Racecourse and The Hoppings, Dakwala Bombay Canteen is offering something new and exciting in addition to their staple menus
• Junefest menu includes Canteen Tandoori sharing platters (for 2 people minimum) and a selection of seasonal cocktails and mocktails 

Junefest is a celebration of everything vibrant and social happening in Newcastle right now. The specially created sharing menu bursts with fresh flavours, bold spices and a sense of fun to match the city’s vibe.

• Vegetable Grill Platter - £12.00 per person

Summer salad mix, stuffed tandoori mushroom, mustard malai broccoli, chari paneer tikka, “Bhutta on the Beach” corn kebab 

• Meat Grill Platter - £12.00 per person

Summer salad mix, fenugreek chicken tikka, lamb seekh kebab, Ashlam’s malai chicken tikka, salmon tikka

• Seafood Grill Platter - £17.00 per person

Tandoori king prawns, curried mussels, grilled Salmon tikka, and soft shell crab with summer salad

Summer cocktails  – 2 for £14.00, carafe for £20.00 - £24.00

• Sangria – classic summer punch with a Dakwala twist

Dakwala Bombay Canteen Founder Rajiv Tiwari worked closely with his talented team of chefs to bring this seasonal menu to life. Taking inspiration from personal experiences and the vibrant pockets of Bombay – from seaside street eats to the hidden spice stalls of Crawford Market – the result is a bold, contemporary menu rooted in Indian tradition and brought to life in the heart of Newcastle.

Our Junefest platters are designed for passing around the table, sharing stories and embracing the social aspect of dining.
