LOVE is in the air as one of the country’s top football stadia gets set to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Sodexo Prestige, which runs the conference and banqueting facilities at St James’ Park – home to Newcastle United FC - is planning an evening of romance at the ground on Friday, 14 February. Couples will be greeted with a glass of pink fizz and each woman attending the event will be given a gift as a memento of the special day, before a three-course table d’hote dinner prepared by Sodexo’s team of award-winning chefs. Starters will include Love Apple tomato and cider soup, crispy duck and Asian salad with hoisin sauce and seafood rillettes with seasoned leaves, curried mayonnaise and toasted focaccia bread. These will be followed by main courses such as pan-fried fillet of sea bream, duo of pork, butter roasted breast of chicken and sautéed gnocchi and a range of desserts including dark chocolate and toffee torte, sticky toffee pudding and French apple tart. A pianist and soloist will provide entertainment throughout the evening and the meal will be rounded off with coffee and chocolate dipped strawberries.
