Children Go Free this Christmas at LIfe as Body Worlds Exhibition Enters its Final Weeks

For a festive treat, take the family to Life Science Centre where children go free with every full paying adult and the world-famous BODY WORLDS Vital exhibition is in its final few weeks.
Thousands have flocked to see Gunther von Hagens’ BODY WORLDS Vital exhibition since it opened at Life Science Centre in May and for those who still have it on their ‘to do’ list, you have until 4 January to experience what has been described as the ‘must-see exhibition of the year’.
Linda Conlon, Chief Executive at Life, said: “There are few exhibitions in the world that so dramatically change the way we think about our bodies, BODY WORLDS Vital does that. It’s a powerful and remarkable exhibition offering such a rare opportunity to look under our skin and in doing so, understand just how truly amazing the human body is.”
180,000 visitors have seen the exhibition since it opened in May – a figure that far outstrips any of the Science Centre’s previous exhibitions.
“We’re incredibly proud to have brought BODY WORLDS Vital to Newcastle for its UK debut and thrilled that so many people have been able to experience it. Visitors have travelled the length and breadth of the country to see this exhibition, such is its appeal. As the exhibition reaches its final two weeks, people can take advantage of the free child entry offer and come and take a look before it heads off overseas.” added Linda.
The exhibition shows how the body works when it is healthy and explores how best to fight life-threatening diseases. It allows visitors to explore human anatomy, physiology and health through a series of full body plastinates, individual organs and transparent body slices that give a complete picture of how the human body works. Healthy and diseased organs are shown alongside each other allowing visitors to see how lifestyle choices may affect the body, such as how smoking affects the lungs.
Life Science Centre is open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day and over the Christmas holidays, visitors can take advantage of a special offer: children go free with every full paying adult offer (download the voucher from www.life.org.uk). In addition to BODY WORLDS Vital, Life has plenty to keep the family entertained with exhibitions, theatre shows, the region’s only 4D Motion Ride and Britain’s most popular planetarium.
