BY GEORGE, IT’S ALL IN A NAME AT ST JAMES’ PARK…

A FOOTBALL stadium, home to some of the game’s most famous names, is adding a new one to its roll of honour - George. St James’ Park, whose footballing legends have included an Alan, a Kevin and a Bobby– not to mention a Nobby and a Shola, is paying tribute to the new royal baby with a special promotion for conference delegates. In honour of the birth of HRH Prince George of Cambridge, Sodexo Prestige, which manages conferences and banqueting at the Newcastle United ground, is treating corporate visitors, who share a name with the royal infant, to a sweet treat and the chance to win a fantastic prize. Throughout August, anyone named either George or Georgina, who is attending a conference or meeting at the ground, will be presented with a specially-baked, commemorative cupcake and their name will be entered into a prize draw. Sales and marketing manager Samantha Doyle said: “Newcastle United isn’t famous for its Georges but, like the rest of the country, we wanted to pay our tribute to the future king. “As well as being one of the UK’s most well-loved football grounds, St James’ Park is a very popular conference and event venue so we’re very much looking forward to meeting lots of grown-up Georges and Georginas this summer.” The special promotion will run until 31 August and, to qualify for the cupcake and enter the prize draw, photo identification must be provided.
