Bodega pub-goers raise over £1000 for disability support charity Percy Hedley Foundation

NEWCASTLE-based pub The Bodega’s annual pub quiz raised over £1000 to support the Percy Hedley Foundation.
The pub team called on their loyal customers to join in on the fund-raising quiz night and raise funds at its annual charity event.
Bar manager Ben Rea said: “We are very grateful for all of the good people who decided to join us and help raise money for such an amazing cause.
“We set a goal of £800 pounds which we not only managed to hit but exceeded by far. Thanks very much to everyone who donated amazing prizes and to our customers, we couldn’t have done it without them.”
The Percy Hedley Foundation focusses on providing support and services for disabled people and their families. Shelia Coltman from the charity said: “As a charity we try to make the best out of every penny in order to provide the best services for people with a disability in order to enhance their quality of life.
“We rely on support from society and good people such as The Bodega team, all the businesses who donated prizes for the quiz and all people who decided to come out on Easter Sunday in order to support a good cause. Thank you.”
The Easter pub quiz included a lot of eye catching prizes including: theatre tickets, dinner at the Baltic’s Six restaurant, lunch for two at London’s Aquashard restaurant on the 31st floor of the iconic Shard building, afternoon tea for two people at Café Royal, a two course meal at Twin Farms, Fyne ales merchandise and more.
