Beat the holiday blues with yoga

A LEADING North East yoga instructor is advising busy professionals that adding classes to their weekly routine could dramatically reduce stress levels. Owner of Happy Yoga Newcastle, Jo Hutton, holds a number of workshops and online tutorials throughout the year to help her clients improve their mental wellbeing and relax. “The transition from holidays into the colder months is always hard work, often we fall out of our routines during summer so, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when we’re trying to get back into them,” said Jo. “Exercise, particularly something as relaxing as yoga, can really help to improve your thought processes and productivity. “Anyone can do yoga, you don’t have to be super flexible or experienced to feel the benefits of the practice. “It’s a great way to build some you time into your schedule and can really help to reduce anxiety and promote a healthy lifestyle, both mentally and physically.” Happy Yoga Newcastle, based at Carliol Square, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, opened its doors on a new studio location in May 2015 and offers classes of all levels to help combat stress, anxiety and depression, along with a number of classes for new or expecting parents. Jo also offers online classes via her free yoga tutorials to give as many people as possible access to yoga.
