Andrew Cushin Announces Second Date at O2 City Hall Newcastle

Following a sell-out first gig, North East singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin announces a second date O2 City Hall Newcastle this December.

The Newcastle native announced his first headline show at the iconic 2000+ capacity concert hall, O2 City Hall in April and has confirmed a second date due to demand.

Taking place on Saturday 16th December 2023, the second headline show marks means Cushin's fans won't have to miss out after tickets for his first gig sold out.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2020 with his debut single, ‘It’s Gonna Get Better’, the 23-year-old’s heartfelt and original sound gained him a legion of fans in the North East before his music spread across the UK and further afield.

His fresh approach to songwriting has earned him the support of indie rock icons, Noel Gallagher and Peter Doherty. An early champion of his work, Gallagher laid down guitars on one of Cushin’s early singles, ‘Where’s My Family Gone’, while Peter Doherty was so captivated by his sound, he signed the young artist to his acclaimed label, Strap Originals in 2021.

Summer last year saw the release of his debut EP on the label, which received acclaim from both fans and critics. Described as “bold” and “catchy” by Clash Magazine, the release took Cushin’s career to new heights.

Over the last year, he has performed at some of the best independent venues across the country and appeared on huge festival stages, including a massive slot at Newcastle’s Rock N Roll Circus supporting Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and The Charlatans.

Cushin made a name for himself for his earnest and contagiously catchy acoustic anthems, but as his style and stature on the indie music scene have grown, so have his live sets. Initially performing on stage with just him and his guitar, Cushin has since enlisted a five-piece band to propel his music into a new electric-driven direction.

Born and raised in Heaton, Andrew is excited to announce a second date for his hometown crowd. Andrew said today: "Wow. I'm lost for words. You lot have sold out the 02 City Hall!

"I can't believe it. This is a huge moment for me, my management, friends and family. Thank you all so much. Because of your fantastic support, I'm now delighted to confirm that we'll be back for a second date on December 16th. Let's do this Newcastle!"

Andrew Cushin will perform his second headline show on Saturday 16th December at O2 City Hall, College House, Northumberland Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8SF.
