An Evening with Alan Shearer
The Tyne Theatre & Opera House have announced that Alan Shearer will be visiting the theatre in April 2019 for an ‘Evening with’ show presented by Newcastle Legends.
The former Newcastle United and England Legend will look back on his career on Tyneside. From wearing the famous Number 9 shirt and beating Jackie Milburn’s goal-scoring record to the ups and downs of his 10 years at his boyhood club. The evening will be hosted by Steve Wraith.
Alan Shearer said: “I am delighted to be doing a show in Newcastle at the Tyne Theatre & Opera house. I was there a couple of years ago filming for my BBC Euro 96 documentary and was really impressed with the venue. When Newcastle Legends offered me the chance to come back home and speak to fans about my time at St James’ I did not have to think twice. I’m looking forward to meeting some fans and sharing some of my stories.”
Theatre Director Joanne Johnson said: “It’s an absolute honour to welcome a Tyneside legend like Alan Shearer to our stage! We’re sure local sports fans will be thrilled to hear Alan share his stories, and there’s no doubt that this event will sell very well.”
