A MAGICAL MUSICAL DELIGHT FOR CHILDREN THIS SUMMER!

How the cat purred and how the witch grinned, as they sat on their broomstick and flew through the wind...A spellbinding family show from the creators of The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom flies into Newcastle Theatre Royal, 20 – 21 August. Join a witch and her cat as they fly happily along on their broomstick – until a Stormy wind blows the witch’s hat, bow and wand away into the night!  With the help of a daft dog, a beautiful bird and a friendly frog, her belongings are retrieved.  But this broomstick’s not meant for five and – CRACK! – it snaps in two!  When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch?  And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone? Tall Stories’ magical musical adaptation of the best-selling book by Children’s Laureate Julia Donaldson MBE and Axel Scheffler, takes audiences aboard a magnificent broom for an unforgettable adventure! Julia Donaldson is one of the most popular writers of children’s books today, her titles include The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child and Room on the Broom.  Axel Scheffler has achieved worldwide acclaim for his children’s book illustrations, as co-creator of The Gruffalo series, and for Jingle Jangle Jungle, Pip and Posy and Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats among many others.  Titles by both Julia and Axel Scheffler include The Snail & the Whale, A Squash and a Squeeze, The Smartest Giant in Town and The Tales from Acorn Wood Series. Brought to the stage by internationally acclaimed theatre company Tall Stories, the creators of the smash-hit production The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom is aimed at ages 3 – 8 years old and is the ideal introduction to theatre for pre and primary school children and their families.
