Oh! What a Lovely War appeared on radio in 1962, on stage in 1963, and on screen in 1969. Each offers insights into how the war was represented, and how the production itself was received. Richard Attenborough’s film, in particular, from which clips will be shown, sought to present the work it to a mass, indeed global, audience, with many of the pressures and compromises that that entailed.
