Carnival at the Castle - Castle Canvas: Newcastle Castle

Step inside a painting and become part of living art at Newcastle Castle this June!

As part of its Carnival in the Castle celebrations, photographer Phil Punton and The Historical and Mythical Recreation Group are taking over the Castle's Great Hall between 10am and 4:30pm on Saturday 13th June to bring to life the famous painting The Spur in the Dish from the Wallington Hall collection - complete with actors, costumes and historic props.

The best part? Visitors are invited to step into the scene and recreate the artwork too - and it's all included in  Newcastle Castle's annual pass!
