Where to Meet Santa in Newcastle this Christmas
Here comes Santa Claus right down the NE1 lane...
Santa is once again defying space and time and managing to make an appearance at several Newcastle locations this year — he must love the Toon, lucky us!
We've made our list (and checked it twice!) so here's everywhere you can meet Santa in the city this Christmas.
Santa Stories @ Old Eldon Square
Following its huge popularity last year, Old Eldon Square is once again transformed into a winter wonderland, where little ones will be able to enjoy a story with Santa himself! In this immersive storytelling experience, kids will also have the opportunity to help Santa complete the nice list - and prove that they belong there! - with a fun questionnaire too.

Santa’s House on Pilgrim Street @ Alderman Fenwick’s House
New for 2025, Alderman Fenwick’s House is transformed into a magical grotto, where Santa will be taking a well-deserved rest over Christmas. You’ll be able to visit him on Pilgrim Street, and enjoy a heartwarming story, a festive gift, and suitably magical sprinkle of seasonal magic. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your letter! Santa’s red postbox will be waiting by the fireplace for it.

Afternoon Tea with Santa @ Royal Station Hotel
One thing we’re starting to learn about Santa is that he loves an afternoon tea! At Royal Station Hotel, guests are invited to the Elves Hideaway to write their letters and enjoy an indulgent feast, before heading inside Santa’s study for a professional family photo with the big man, under the glow of garlands and a Christmas tree. And yes, every child on the nice list will go home with a special gift to treasure!

The Santa Experience @ Life Science Centre
Join Santa in the skies with this incredible experience at Life Science Centre! Take to the sleigh in the planetarium as Saint Nick flies around the world to deliver presents. Afterwards, children will visit Santa’s home for a meet-and-greet, as well as see some exciting demonstrations too! And with a whole feast of festive activities happening across the Life Science Centre too, it’s worth booking tickets ASAP!

Santa Sunday Lunch @ The Vermont Hotel
Enjoy a seasonal Sunday lunch at The Vermont Hotel this December! Santa will visit each table while the whole family can also enjoy a delicious three-course meal too. Take a visit to Santa's grotto inside Newcastle's very own Malron Hotel! Santa’s Grotto @ Blackfriars
The beloved Blackfriars Restaurant is transformed into a magical grotto this December to welcome Santa and all his elves. This one-hour session invites children to get creative with some festive arts and crafts, Christmas cookie decorating, and obviously, the opportunity to meet the big guy. And fret not adults, your ticket includes a hot drink and some festive fudge as well!

Arthur Christmas Family Event @ Tyneside Cinema
New for 2025, Tyneside Cinema is inviting young cinephiles for a special Arthur Christmas themed family event. Little guests will receive a card from Santa and Arthur in the post, before being greeted at the cinema with a tasty hot chocolate. After a screening of this animated favourite, all children will be able to meet Santa himself, and receive their very own gift to take home.

Story Time with Santa @ Gino D’Acampo
Gino D’Acampo is also helping families make some magical memories, as Santa’s sleigh lands for a special story time.
