We might be a bit too old for trick or treating, but that doesn’t mean us grown-ups can’t have a bit of fun at Halloween.
To help you unleash your inner ghoul, we’ve rounded up some of the best Halloween happenings in Newcastle for adults – from terrifying ghost tours to horror film marathons – so come and celebrate spooky season in the city… if you dare!
Garth Marenghi’s This Bursted Earth Book Tour @ Tyne Theatre & Opera House
Everyone’s favourite fictional author Garth Marenghi is treating us Geordies to a stop-off in the Toon for the tour of his latest book This Bursted Earth – on Halloween itself, no less! The self-proclaimed “master of the macabre” will reveal three new cursed and camp horror tales and there’s the chance to buy signed hardback copies of the book on the day for Marenghi mega fans too.

Pints & Pooches: Halloween Doggy Social @ Wylam Brewery
Now for something a little less spooky and a lot more cute, join Wylam Brewery for their Halloween doggy social Pints & Pooches. Hosted in partnership with Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter, there’s tonnes of fun for canine companions and their humans including entertainment for dogs, independent traders and even a “Best in Show” costume competition for the puppers… and fresh beers for the humans of course!

Halloween All-Nighter @ Tyneside Cinema
Tyneside Cinema’s annual Halloween All-Nighter is a hoot for horror fans each of its screens showing five spine-chilling classics throughout the night, each with a different theme. Tickets are selling fast as per usual, but you still books sets for blood-curling flicks including Fright Night, Suspiria and Maniac Cop.

Silent Movie Murder Mystery @ Northern Stage
Fancy yourself something of a detective? Then head to Northern Stage this spooky season for this frighteningly funny whodunnit in their Café Bar. Take a seat, enjoy a welcome glass of fizz and a sharing board for two as you and your most sharp-witted pals try and work out whether silent move star Gerda Loynes really did commit murder…

Halloween Spooktacular @ Boulevard
Would it be Halloween in Newcastle without a trip to Boulevard to catch their annual Halloween Spooktacular?
