Halloween happening during the half-term holiday doesn’t have to be a nightmare! We’ve got the details on all the ghoulishly good goings-on, so all you need to worry about is getting the kids out the house.
There’s plenty more treats than tricks here, from spooky trails and tours to creepy crafts and comedy, so make sure you don’t miss out.
Kids Pirate Halloween Party @ Purple Peacock
Say ahoy to Purple Peacock’s Kids Pirate Halloween Party this October half-term holiday! Taking families on a swashbuckling, immersive adventure like no other, future captains (and their grown-up shipmates) can expect spooky surprises and laugh-out-loud moments. There’s some spooky special effects brewing at the Laing Art Gallery this Halloween, as special effects make up artist and teacher Over the Winks shows 7-12 year olds how to transform themselves into some uncanny creatures in time for Halloween! All equipment will be provided, and guests will have the chance to practice before diving into create their own monstruous masterpieces.

Spooky Science @ Life Science Centre
Life Science Centre is all about spooky science this Halloween! The little monsters can have a go at creating a spooky shadow lantern in the Making Studios, become a mad scientist in the Experiment Zone, and enjoy the incredible new 360° dome show Bump in the Night. Eldon Square is jam-packed with some frightening fun this Halloween, with a full week of free activities for brave families! Growing ghouls and wannabe witches can take on this thrilling trail throughout Eldon Square to discover the hidden Halloween word, and receive a spooktacular seasonal goody bag alongside an official Eldon Scare certificate of completion. Even better, it’s all in support of the Changing Lives Charity, helping to support those in need across the community.

Wand Making Workshop @ Tyne Theatre & Opera House
