GREAT NORTH MUSEUM

‘Which Way North’ is taking over the Great North Museum for the Great Exhibition of the North. You’ll see the incredible Damien Hirst’s ‘Heaven’, Helen Sharman’s Space Suit, and even the Eleventh Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver.

SEVEN STORIES

A hub of children’s books and learning, the kids will be entertained here all day. They’re also taking part in the Great Exhibition of the North with a ‘Winged Tales of the North Trail’ inspired by new flash fiction by David Almond. You’ll follow the trail through Ouseburn Valley on a creative and imaginative journey that’s fun for all the family.

QUAYSIDE

The Quayside is the place to be this summer to soak up the Great Exhibition of the North atmosphere from morning to night. Spend a sunny afternoon by the Tyne and watch as the Get North Water Sculpture sets off every hour, on the hour. Finish off a day of family fun with some food at one of our favourite Quayside restaurants.

The Great Exhibition of the North is free to attend and will see our city sparkling with inspiring art, design and innovation throughout the summer months. Pop some of these dates in your diaries - and don't forget to tweet and post on Facebook and Instagram throughout the exhibition, using the hashtag #GetNorth.
