The Siemens Boat Race of the North Returns to NE1 for 2019

The Siemens Boat Race of the North returns to NE1 for its 19th year!

Newcastle and Durham University Rowing teams will go head to head on Saturday 11th May, as they race alongside the carnival-style celebrations of the Champions Rugby Village!

As thousands of sports fans gather on the banks of the Tyne - be it for the rugby
or the Boat Race - there will be heaps of entertainment on hand linked to both the rowing and the rugby!

Seven thrilling races will take place, starting from 1.30pm, building up to the blue ribbon events and the rugby action which kicks off at St James' Park at 5pm.

While the rowing excitement unfolds on the river, there will be lots of things for the public to enjoy on land, with a Siemens Energy rowing machine challenge, as well as fantastic food stalls and family activities.
