SCREEN ON THE GREEN
Get your summer cinema fix in the city as NE1's Screen on the Green returns with another packed-out schedule of smash-hit screenings and sporting event coverage. Newcastle’s outdoor cinema screenings are a great place to hang out with friends, entertain the kids and catch some straight-off-the-big-screen movies! What’s more? You’ll also be able to catch some seriously good sporting events and live screenings direct from the Royal Opera House in London. So pull up one of our bright blue deckchairs, bring a bag of popcorn and chill out on the green this summer.

DACIA MAGIC WEEKEND 2018
Betfred Super League’s sporting summer party returns to Newcastle for a weekend of fun for the whole family! RFL is back at St James’ Park for the Dacia Magic Weekend 2018. Thousands of fans from NE1 and beyond will once again flock to Newcastle to spectate as 14 of the sport’s top teams battle it out on the field. Fans can expect fantastic fixtures, live music, fancy dress and much more! The games will take place on 19th and 20th May, with an additional match between Newcastle Thunder and Bradford Bulls on Friday 18th May.
NEWCASTLE PRIDE 2018
The most colourful event in the summer social calendar is back from 20th – 22nd July 2018! Vibrant acts, exciting activities and events descend on the city for a weekend of pure festivities, all in support of LGBTQ+ culture. Team NE1 are incredibly proud to sponsor this big, bold and beautiful event. This year, music fans are invited to fix their Broken Heels and Don’t Stop Movin' because Alexandra Burke and S Club have been announced as headline acts! For the first time
ever, the festival has moved from the Town Moor to Nuns Moor Park and the acts will perform under a big top tent with a capacity of more than 15,000. Fancy being part of the Pride celebrations in our city this year? Don your brightest rainbow attire and pop this fun-packed Pride event in your diaries this summer!
NE1 NEWCASTLE MOTOR SHOW
The NE1 Newcastle Motor Show is the driving force when it comes to city centre car shows, and it’s a real highlight on our summer social calendar. Last year, with huge help from our headline sponsors, DFDS, the Motor Show took over the city centre for two glorious days as the crowds flocked to see some of the best live entertainment, activities and inspiring motors the city has seen! This year, we’re expecting more displays, more cars and more entertainment – and we can’t wait to share it with the petrolheads of the North East and beyond! NE1 NEWCASTLE RESTAURANT WEEK
Foodies, we've got an important date for your diary! The summer NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week is back from 6th - 12th August and we've got plenty for you to tuck in to! With over 100 restaurants involved, it's the biggest foodie event of the summer season and a great opportunity to sample some of the city's finest and best-loved eating establishments. For only £10 or £15pp, city diners will get the chance to book in for a fine feast at one of our longstanding favourites, or can try something completely new. It really is a foodie's paradise - so make sure you pop it in your summer diary!
