Spring brings hope and optimism more than ever this year, and as the sun starts to beat down on the city (between April showers), we’re over the moon to be heading back to the streets to shop at some of our favourite stores.
There’s never been a better time to shout about our inspiring independents, catch-up with some familiar faces and pop some shopping events in our diaries…
UNION CLOTHING
This Newcastle icon has built a huge following over the years and the High Bridge store is a landmark when it comes to indie shopping in the city. The Union gang have been keeping our wardrobes stocked thanks to their speedy UK next working day delivery and click & collect service throughout lockdown - a fabulous example of NE1 businesses adapting to the situation and keeping customers kitted out! Now we're back in the city, we can't wait to pop in, say thank you and shop some more!
LEAF CLOTHING
A stalwart name in the Toon’s tailoring scene, Leaf Clothing is a family-run business and a beautiful spot to shop local this spring. Boasting lovely collections from some of Europe's most exclusive brands, Brian, Josie and team are delighted to be back in store after moving their service online to keep us all looking dapper throughout lockdown with FaceTime and WhatsApp video appointments. We'll be stocking up on smart attire for upcoming events, that's for sure!
JOHN LEWIS
Whether you're shopping around for some sweet new speakers for BBQ season or need to replace your worn out TV, John Lewis’ spring deals are sure to put a smile on your face this April! We’ve got our eye on their new beauty products that have just dropped, and while there may be no beach holiday on the horizon, it’s still possible to achieve sun-kissed, radiant skin with a bit of make-up mastery and boy, does John Lewis have some special brands to get your skin in tip-top shape for your beer garden escapade this year. Our neighbours at Upside Down Presents have ensured you can bag mint Geordie gifts at any time thanks to their newly designed website, and we can't wait to catch up with them in store now the city is starting to reopen! Currently chock full of local art, fine photography and tons of quirky keepsakes to put big smiles on the faces of loved ones, you're sure to find something unique!

A WARM WELCOME TO THE VINTAGE SCENE!
Vintage shopping is the best way to elevate your wardrobe with unique pieces and save a few pennies in the process. Everybody say hello to The Vintage Scene - a brand new store setting up shop in NE1 this spring! This Ridley Place newbie is set to be ready for the city's retail reopening on 12 April and we can't wait to check it out! The Vintage Scene is all about designer labels and statement pieces from the 80s, 90s and 00s. These music maestros have kept our music collection rockin’ during the colder months thanks to their selection of LPs, CDs, hi-fi kit and beautiful instruments.
