NE1 Reviews: Gusto

Go here for good food with added gusto!

The guys at Gusto really know what they’re doing when it comes to stylish, city-centre dining. If it’s not the vibrant Quayside location or the immaculate interiors that blow you away, it’s the friendly faces behind the counter or the mouthwatering meals on offer.

It’s a real box-ticker when it comes to finding somewhere to suit the style and savour of the whole squad. Whether you’re a family looking for somewhere to keep the kids happy, a group of girlfriends looking to sit back and sip on the terrace or a couple checking in for good grub and fine wines, make sure you grab your loved ones and go for the real Gusto experience in NE1.

Smiling staff greet us as we step inside on a sunny  Quayside afternoon. It’s a pretty enchanting hangout - with sweeping fairy lights, an olive tree towering over the tables and a bustling bar area where the magic happens!

Seated, watered and ready to eat the world, we order from the main menu and the specials menu.

We kick things off with the hand rolled meatballs (£6.50) - served in a creamy tomato sauce and glazed with punchy Italian cheese. Every last melt-in-the-mouth meatball is scooped up with chargrilled artisan bread. Yum!

With a taste of spicy tomato in the palate, my dinner date goes for the garganelli arrabiata (£10.75) when it comes to the main event. A signature pasta dish with added spice for good measure. The gluten free pasta pieces are topped with chicken, tomato, chilli, mozzarella and fresh basil. It’s the lobster spaghetti (£21.95) from the specials menu for myself. A bowl filled to the brim with fresh spaghetti, prawns and lobster, tossed in a lobster bisque sauce. It’s light, it’s flavoursome and it goes down an absolute treat!

If pasta isn’t your pick, there’s plenty to choose from. Diners can start with breads, nibbles and deli boards; followed by salads, risottos, pizzas, burgers, fresh fish and premium steaks.

If our quintessential Quayside isn’t already the perfect place to hangout with loved ones, book in at Gusto for a sumptuous dinner and signature sips!

Visit Gusto on the Quayside this spring for sumptiious starters, mouthwatering main courses and desserts that deliver!
