These much-loved pizza experts (on Dean Street and in intu Eldon Square) just happen to be knocking out some of the healthiest pizzas
in NE1. Having recently introduced their ‘Leggera’ menu, foodies can choose any classic or romana pizza on a regular-sized wholemeal, white or spelt dough served with a side of fresh, dressed salad! The Leggera Pandana is a treat for the tastebuds, packed with goat’s cheese, caramelised onion, spinach, red onion, tomato and garlic oil!
PIZZA PUNKS
Fancy the sound of artisan sourdough peppered with an array of unlimited toppings? Throw in an authentic wood-fired oven and we're in! We know it sounds too good to be true, but such a place exists right here in NE1! Make your way over to Pizza Punks on Grey Street and lose yourself in pizza heaven. Choose your sauce, pick the all-important cheese topping and dive head first into 41 different ingredients. And the best thing about it is, they’re unlimited! We’re talking Tuscan sausage, tenderstem broccoli, sriracha & maple roasted cauliflower and Brown Ale beef brisket (true Geordie style)!
UNO’S TRATTORIA
Make sure you give Uno’s Trattoria a go this February. A quaint, Quayside restaurant specialising in Italian comfort food, Uno’s Trattoria has over 22 delicious toppings ready and waiting in the wings. A number of different bases are also available, with toppings such as pulled pork, roasted vegetables and capers, but we can’t look past their signature jam-packed calzone. A fantastic folded pizza feast filled with ham, mushrooms, onions, mozzarella and tomato. With happy hours on pasta and pizza available during the week for as little as £6.25, there’s a reason why Uno’s has been a Toon pizza pilgrimage for over 30 years!

Swing by Central Oven & Shaker this National Pizza Day, where you can stuff your face with whatever pizza your heart (or tastebuds) desire. Their signature truffle bresaola and wild mushroom creation is what dreams are made of! Head back to this pizza parlour on a Thursday and enjoy two pizzas for just £12 and 2-4-1 cocktails!
