One of the biggest events in the Rugby League calendar is inching closer, and Newcastle is once again proudly playing host to the Dacia Magic Weekend!
The stunning weekend of rugby league on July 9 and 10 will see all Betfred Super League fixtures take place in one stadium, the iconic St James’ Park, and it’ll be a weekend to remember with six huge clashes, including two of the biggest derbies in the League!
Across two days, twelve teams will bring the excitement and energy of live sport to the city, promising unbelievable athleticism, huge hits and breath-taking tries, but there are two games which bring unrivalled passion – the derbies! This year’s mega-clashes will see St Helens v Wigan Warriors on Saturday and Hull KR v Hull FC on Sunday; four teams who are ready to duke it out on the field, with St Helens and Wigan Warriors fighting for their place at the top of the competition on Saturday, and the black and white/red and white super-clash of the Hull teams on the Sunday.
It’s not just a weekend for superfans though, the event’s unique pass-out system and unreserved seating means audiences can pop in and out of the action to explore the jam-packed Fan Zone on Strawberry Place, where they can grab a bite to eat or a drink from a multitude of food and drink vendors, and enjoy a party atmosphere with games, live entertainment and DJs.
These contests have it all – late drama, twists and turns, and passionate supporters, making Dacia Magic Weekend a must for old and new fans alike, as well as anyone looking for a great day out filled with excitement and entertainment.
