Take tots to Great North Museum’s Toddler Truck Tour. An opportunity for toddlers to embark on a 20-minute tour around the galleries aboard their very own truck. Seek out six special objects, using a magnifying glass to take a closer look.

Make your own batch of artisan chocolates at Blackfriars’ oh-so- sweet Chocolate Works workshop. You’ll learn how to temper chocolate, decorate like a pro and enjoy a communal lunch with wine.



Brunch it up

Start your day in a healthy way at STACK! Swing by Hungry Vegan for good-for-you, plant-based food to take away and enjoy. Pick up a fresh sub or salad and you’re ready to go!



Stage workshop



Theatre-lovers and aspiring directors are invited to Live Theatre this Saturday, where they can join its artistic director, Joe Douglas, for an inspiring session about directing new plays for the stage.



Big game

Calling all rugby fans! Make your way to St James’ Park this Saturday for a Gallagher Premiership clash between the Newcastle Falcons and the Sale Sharks. At 5.30pm, the whistle will blow to kick off a gripping contest in front of a club record crowd. Don’t miss it in NE1!

To mark the 75th anniversary of The Great Escape, Dan Snow hosts a commemorative evening, screened live from London’s Eventim Apollo, to cinemas across the UK - including our very own Tyneside Cinema! Featuring The D-Day Darlings and special guests, the event will include a gala screening of the remastered 1963 cult film, starring Steve McQueen.



Ghouls and ghosts



Families are invited to Seven Stories for a spooky chat with J. R. R. Tolkien expert, Karl Southern, about the ghosts and spirits that roam Middle-earth. A rare opportunity for bookworms to learn all about the evil, mischievous and good-hearted ghouls that feature in his novels.
