Keep the kids entertained this half-term with heaps of family fun at venues across the city...

ROCKET GIRL

18 - 22 FEBRUARY

Alphabetti Theatre

Wander over to Alphabetti Theatre for a unique February half-term experience! Created by The Worriers and Alphabetti Theatre (winner of the Best Children’s Show Award, British Theatre Guide 2017), settle in for a fantastical family friendly show that follows Georgia’s mission to design and build the world’s very first rocket! After a fabulous theatre performance, youngsters are then invited to take part in the 'Everyone's an Engineer' workshop! Grab your thinking caps and invent your very own rocket using recycled materials, just like Georgia from Rocket Girl! A perfect day out for all members of the family, make sure you take advantage of their special half-term family ticket (5 people) for just £28!

GO TO INFINITY AND BEYOND

15 - 23 FEBRUARY

Life Science Centre

Calling all astronauts - there’s a rocket-fuelled extravaganza ready for launch this February half-term, and we wouldn't want you to miss it! The team at Life Science Centre are preparing for all things extra-terrestrial and we’ve all been invited! Immerse yourself in the brand-new live science theatre show, Destination Space; find out about cutting-edge satellites built right here in the North East, explore the Universe at the incredible Space Zone and capture the moment with a selfie in Mission Control! If that's not enough, young space cadets can create their own air-powered rockets, get up close and personal with a real satellite before gazing up to the stars inside the Planetarium. Did we mention that kids aged 4 and under go free?
