THIS GIRL CAN
This Girl Can is a celebration of active women who are doing their thing for fitness - no matter how well they do it, how they look - or even how red their face gets! Active Newcastle are working with the people of the North East to help women overcome the fear of judgement that is stopping them from joining in and championing active lives. This year, you can do your bit by coming together with local ladies! This year’s This Girl Can International Women’s Day event is taking place on Thursday 7th March at Exhibition Park, with the theme #BalanceForBetter. The main event is a This Girl Can 5k walk or run, with a one mile option also available. Take part or even just come and soak up the atmosphere.
WOMEN IN SCIENCE AT EXPLORE

Guest speakers at Newcastle University Business School will include inspirational women from across the region as well as the charity’s East Africa Partnerships Coordinator, Oswin Mahundi, joining the event from Tanzania.
