All You Need To Know About New Quayside Hotspot Sabas Italian Tapas & Bar

Last updated:

As summer heats up, we’re telling you everything you need to know about one of the city’s sunniest new spots, Sabas Italian Tapas & Bar...

It’s no secret that the Quayside is one of the hottest spots in the city when it comes to spending the summer months lapping up the sunshine by the Tyne.

This summer, we’ve got even more reason to love our waterfront oasis, with the arrival of Sabas Italian Tapas & Bar - the place to be for a taste of the Med in a truly idyllic setting, boasting views of the seven bridges.

Our friends at Signor and Sabatini have put their heads together to create a sparkling new drinking and dining destination, bringing indulgent Italian dining to the banks of the River Tyne. Using their expert knowledge when it comes to fine wines, cocktails and a mouthwatering menu to match, it’s the new place to be when it comes to tucking into a sunshine feast with all the trimmings.

Go here for seriously outstanding, tapas-style dishes - or ‘Cicchetti’ as it’s known in Italy - along with a lush drinks list in a relaxed environment, with plenty of indoor and outdoor dining.

So, what’s on the menu this summer? From classic favourites to seasonal delights, each and every dish is deliciously authentic, beautifully created and cooked with passion. Think Sardinian food with flair - from speciality seafood to stone-baked pizzas, there’s something for everyone and for every occasion.

Menu highlights include: fried Italian street food such as arancini and calamari fritti, sharing boards including the finest Italian cheeses, cured meats, breads and seafood, and tapas-style pasta and risotto dishes. Not to mention a number of pizzas with tasty toppings, plus sandwiches, salads and bruschetta dishes, perfect for a lazy lunch by the Tyne.

Those with a sweet tooth can look forward to traditional dishes such as tiramisu, lemon sorbet and Italian custard tart with all the trimmings.

What’s more? Sabas invites cocktail-lovers to drop in for a casual refreshment (or two!) with 2-4-1 cocktails served all day Wednesday to Sunday. There’s never been a better excuse to raise a glass to the sunny season.

So, what are you waiting for? Round-up your friends, book online and check out this stunning new bar and restaurant on our sparkling Quayside this summer.

An aperol spritz, bowl of spaghetti and views of the Tyne Bridge on a sunny afternoon - there’s nothing better!

Sabas Italian Tapas & Bar is open Wednesday to Thursday, 12pm - 10pm, Friday to Saturday, 12pm - 12am and Sunday 12pm - 10pm.
