Y Salon Entrepreneur Angela Lowery Amongst Best In the North East

Angela Lowery, Creative Director of bustling Y Salon in Eldon Garden, Newcastle Upon Tyne has been awarded the Runner Up status in Best Creative Business category at the annual North East Woman Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards 2013. The awards are delivered by WIN (Women into the Network Ltd) in association with NECC, as apart of their Female Advisory Board. The cream of female entrepreneurial talent turned out in force at the dazzling awards night, held at Gateshead Hilton, to celebrate the achievements of the North East’s top women business leaders. The 14th Annual North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards brought together high-flying women from a variety of sectors across the North East. Judges this year shortlisted women who excelled at providing focused, clear leadership abilities in running or playing a key role in business.  The standard of entries eclipsed previous years with numbers of applications reaching a record high. Angela who created the ‘Geordie Blow Dry’ service in Newcastle that was met with a mass of press attention worked the fashion circuit around Europe and Y Salon, who she runs with husband Leslie Lowery, is one of L’Oreal Professional’s Portfolio salons, one of fifty in the UK. Y Salon co-owner Angela said ‘It was an incredible night and to be part of such talent was very special.  The North East has such strong business profiles, it was great to see Y Salon at that level’.
