Witness a Miracle on Grey Street

Cocktails served in baubles and tea infused with whisky are just two of the treats awaiting customers at a special, Tyneside festive pop-up.

A miracle has taken place on Newcastle’s Grey Street, transforming the former Living Room site at Grey Street Hotel into a traditional Christmas grotto for grown-ups and children alike.

And the Miracle on Grey Street pop-up bar will be serving its naughty and nice-themed drinks right up until Christmas Eve.

A special arch, festooned with foliage and fairy lights, marks the entrance to the venue but it is the interior that really shouts Christmas.

Swathed in red, green and gold garlands, fir trees and with a giant tableau featuring Santa and his sleigh, the bar is lit with thousands of twinkling lights.

Classic Christmas movies are screened above the bar to a soundtrack of festive hits and staff are echoing Santa’s elves in special seasonal uniforms.

“This is where Christmas really begins,” said Atul Malhotra, operations director for owner Malhotra Group plc. “And where we will be celebrating right up until the big day.

“I can guarantee nowhere else has gone to as much trouble as we have to create the perfect, traditional Christmas atmosphere – from our Santa displays and decorations, to our superb artwork and specially created cocktails.

“If Miracle on Grey Street doesn’t put you in the mood for Christmas then nothing will.”

Along with a full range of wines, spirits, beers lagers and ciders, the Miracle on Grey Street bar will be serving hot drinks, mulled wine and cider and a range of themed cocktails for those who have been naughty or nice.

Miracle on Grey Street is open daily from 12 noon to midnight (children are welcome until 8pm) and can be exclusively hired for parties of up to 120 people.
