Westgate Newbie 'The Laundrette' Reveals Newcastle Cocktails

Ahead of the October opening, new Westgate Road bar and restaurant The Laundrette has released details of some of what's in store...

With a reputation for its amazing cocktails in Manchester, the guys behind The Laundrette have been doing their research to create 'Two For Joy' and 'Toon Tipple' for locals to enjoy when it opens on October 2nd 2017. 

Complete with black feathers in a nod to the Magpie's, 'Two For Joy' is a lovely herbatious and aromatic mix of Gin Mare, Elderflower liqueur, mango and saffron honey. A delicious pre-dinner cocktail.

The second option, the 'Toon Tipple', was named by a competition winner on Facebook and uses local favourite, Newcastle Brown Ale. It is a playful twist on an espresso martini, but served over ice. The mixologists use a brown ale reduction which is then shaken with coffee, rum and chocolate liqueur to create a perfect after dinner pick-me-up.

The two Newcastle newbies will be added to the menu along with favourites, Headfunk, the Raspberri Flossi and the Laundrette Bubble Bath sharer. Talking about the launch, co-owner, Jon Charles, said: "We wanted to create something special for Newcastle and just can't wait to open now and see what people think. Our cocktail list is ready, our food menus have been completed with some fabulous dishes, we have an amazing team on board, so now we just want to open the doors and get started."
