‘Ultimate’ Newcastle Sports Gastro Bar Re-Opens after Renovations
A popular fixture of Newcastle nightlife has re-opened its doors after a makeover which saw it closed for over five weeks.
Shark Club, which is situated in Sandman Signature Newcastle Hotel, first opened its doors in 2011. Located on the site of the original Newcastle brewery, opposite St James’ Park, it’s been a regular fixture on the hospitality scene for over a decade.
The venue aims to provide an atmospheric, welcoming and relaxed place to enjoy the very best in live sporting events, with great food and drink.
Having invested a significant amount in renovations, Shark Club now provides a lighter interior, a new bar and an improved layout, allowing for better views of the big screens. The new interior, coupled with a new food and cocktail menu, cements Shark’s position as the North East’s ultimate sports bar.
New items, including a cheese burger pizza, a variety of smash burgers and a mouth-watering Philly steak sandwich, are joining the menu – the perfect accompaniments to watching the big screens. The Shark Club’s famous chicken wings are also set to have additional flavours join the range including Chipotle Lime, Sweet & Sour plus Sex Panther for lovers of spice. Rich and velvety milkshakes will also join the line up.

We have made a major update to our food and cocktail menu that we think will surprise and delight our long-time fans and new audiences with tasty ideas like Bar Bites and juicy Smash Burgers. Whatever the 2024 sporting calendar brings – we’re ready for it!”
