Tyneside Cinema's Cult Classic All-nighter Returns for Halloween!

  • Halloween Cult Classic All-Nighter, Tickets £1 per film
  • 10pm Saturday 29 October - 10am Sunday 30 October
  • Tyneside Cinema, 10 Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6QG

Newcastle’s Tyneside Cinema is giving film fans the chance to see some of the greatest horror films ever made at the Cinema’s Halloween Cult Classic All-Nighter event on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October, for just £1 per film.

This event is the latest edition of the Cinema’s incredibly popular Cult Classic All-Nighter, a now-legendary annual event that sees the Cinema screen films in all four of its screens, all night, giving film fans the chance to choose from 16 films to curate their own journey through the world of horror. Screenings sell out each year, and are a must-attend event for the region’s hardier film fans! This year’s all-nighter is a horror special to coincide with Halloween – a theme that’s sure to be a hit with North East film fans.

In addition, there will be a spooktacular Halloween Party in the Cinema’s ground floor Tyneside Bar Café from 7pm on Saturday 29 October, with themed food and drink, music, special Halloween cocktails, a horror quiz and prizes for the best costumes. Entry is free.

£1 tickets are now on sale for classic cult horror favourites THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOWBEETLEJUICE, CARRIE and GHOSTBUSTERS (1984), 1980s favourite AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON and Ridley Scott’s epic sci-fi horror, ALIEN, as well as recent gross-out horror comedy THE GREASY STRANGLER and 1990s classic BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA, starring Gary Oldman.

Film fans looking for cinematic thrills over the weekend can enjoy some of the greatest scary movies from across the world, with the 2002 Japanese horror DARK WATER from Hideo Nakata (RING),  uber-cool 2014 Iranian-American film A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT, as well as the newly released South Korean zombie horror TRAIN TO BUSAN.

There is also the chance to see films from some of the masters of the genre, including Dario Argento’s DEEP RED (PROFONDO ROSSO), Abel Ferrara’s THE DRILLER KILLER, George A. Romero’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, Sam Raimi’s THE EVIL DEAD and Wes Craven’s A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.

Jonny Tull, Film Programmer for Tyneside Cinema said,

“This is one of the most exciting occasions in the Tyneside Cinema calendar and each year we see an amazing response. Tyneside Cinema is here to provide incredible experiences for film fans to enjoy fantastic movies together and we’re thrilled to be opening our doors for another brilliant Cult Classic All-Nighter.”
