Tyne Theatre & Opera House announce Easter Panto: The Wizard of Oz

Enchanted Entertainment return to Tyne Theatre & Opera House, on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th April 2020, for a fantastic all-new Easter pantomime production of The Wizard of Oz.

Audiences are invited to join the star cast, still to be announced, and follow the Yellow Brick Road with Kansas farm-girl Dorothy and her pet dog Toto, on this magical adventure suitable for all ages.

This wonderful Easter pantomime-version of L. Frank Baum’s much-loved fairy tale promises to be packed with brilliant dance routines, well-known pop songs, lots of audience participation and plenty of laughter for all the family!

Although The Wizard of Oz star cast is still be announced, Enchanted Entertainment have now completed their casting for their Tyne Theatre & Opera House Christmas pantomime, Aladdin, having recently found their Princess Jasmine.

Hannah Wales from Gateshead was awarded the role following her open audition at the theatre – concluding the search for Princess Jasmine.

Other recent additions to the cast include Home and Away’s Nic Westaway as hero Aladdin, X Factor runner-up & West End Theatre star Marcus Collins as the Genie and Hollyoaks star David Easter as the villain, Abanazar.

With the Aladdin cast now complete, tickets are flying out and it’s recommended that you book soon to avoid disappointment.

Anyone looking further ahead and wanting to secure the best seats in the house for The Wizard of Oz Easter Panto can buy tickets when they go on general sale on Thursday 26th September.

Theatre Director Joanne Johnson says: “Enchanted Entertainment produce the most spectacular pantomimes, and The Wizard of Oz is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the magic of theatre during the Easter weekend. Of course, first we have our Christmas pantomime, Aladdin, and I’m so excited to see the brilliant cast in action. Tickets are already selling incredibly well, and it already looks like we will break last year’s record for ticket sales.”
