Tup Tup Palace Turns Back the Clock for Round Two
The success of a night of nostalgia which featured the best of the 90s and 00s Hip Hop and R&B scene has led to organisers planning a second event.
Newcastle’s Tup Tup Palace staged its Hip Hop and R&B Reunion back in November – aimed at club goers who missed the glory days of the city’s music scene.
And because of the amazing response to the night – which included an appearance by football legend, Nobby Solano - it is set to happen again – this time between 3pm and 8pm on Saturday 28 February.
Aimed at everyone who attended – and misses – classic club nights such as LoveDough at Ikon on Thursdays or Julies on a Sunday, this is the opportunity for people to relive the magic of those special events.
“There was Cuba Cuba, Legends, Ikon and Envy and of course not forgetting the legendary Julie’s on a Sunday with the late Rob Bogie and Wayne C MacDonald,” said Nigel Holliday, one of the co-owners of Tup Tup Palace.
“We were delighted to be able to pay tribute to these special, memorable nights at the event last year and were completely overwhelmed by the incredible response.
“We realised we couldn’t just let this be a one-off, so that’s why we’re preparing to do it all again.”
Headlining on the day is DJ Shortee Blitz, a regular fixture at LoveDough and Bar Beyond, along with the legendary Wayne C Macdoland, LKP and Joe Sensation.
“This is a must for anyone who remembers the club scene in Newcastle,” said Nigel.
“We will be playing all of the classics from those golden years, just 100 per cent old school Hip Hop and R&B.”
R&B + Hip Hop Reunion Part 2 takes place at Tup Tup Palace on 28th February. Tickets are £12, with options to book private tables. Tickets can be purchased via Fatsoma and anyone who wants to book a private table can do so by emailing [email protected].
