Theatrical holiday themed pop-up event hits Newcastle’s NE1's Quayside Seaside this week

Thursday 18 June, 7.30pm No More Worries Presented by Live Theatre & Simon Mole Created by Simon Mole & Peader Kirk Co-produced by Apples and Snakes, the Albany and ARC Stockton Anyone in Newcastle on Wednesday afternoon, 10th June, should head to NE1’s Quayside Seaside, near Newcastle’s Law Courts, where they will be able to meet performance poet Simon Mole and installation artist Peader Kirk and their VW campervan from 1 to 5pm. Simon and Peader will be encouraging passers-by to add their favourite driving tune to their road-trip playlist, write a poetry postcard or pin their own perfect holiday memory to an ever expanding map in this holiday themed pop-up event ahead of their performance of No More Worries at Live Theatre on Thursday 18 June at 7.30pm. Audiences are being invited to join characters Kieran and Paul, as this mismatched couple take a road-trip through austerity Britain as they search for the perfect holiday moment in No More Worries.  But sometimes the past is the only thing you can’t leave behind. Kieran is 27 and stuck in a dead end seaside town.  He wants to see the world, one exotic cocktail at a time.  But tonight there’s a UK garage revival on at Rileys, and Sambuca’s half price. Paul is 50 and on the road again, a British Lebowski in an old skool campervan.  Trusting in tai chi and the power of sevens, he’s on a quest to reconcile then and now. Anyone unable to make a mini break to the NE1's Quayside Seaside can visit the show’s website (www.nomoreworries.org.uk) where they can share their best holiday moment ever or add a song to a playlist of all-time favourite best driving tunes.  Alternatively visitors can browse through a gallery of tacky holiday souvenirs and add their worst to the mix. Simon Mole said: “We are looking forward to meeting people and encouraging them to share their holiday memories as we, hopefully, sun ourselves alongside our paddling pool and inflatable plastic palm trees on our campaign to prove that every day is a beach.” No More Worries is at Live Theatre on Thursday 18 June at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £14 to £10, over 60s concessions £12 and other concessions £6.  Tickets can be purchased by contacting Live Theatre’s box office on (0191) 232 1232 or online by visiting www.live.org.uk
