The North East Wedding Show Celebrates Autumn Success

2,500 brides descended on Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on 13th -14th September for the highly anticipated first autumn edition of The North East Wedding Show.
Opening the show in style, Nicole Bailey, recently crowned Miss Newcastle GB, cut the ribbon to celebrate this season’s launch. Dressed in a stunning Essence of Australia wedding dress provided by Accent Original Bridal House, Nicole wowed the crowds as she joined the first 500 visitors through the door for a glass of bubbly to commence the exciting weekend ahead.
The region’s best wedding suppliers showcased their latest collections and services, with everything from beautiful bridal gowns and honeymoon hideaways to magical venues and exciting entertainment.
Taking part three times each day, the breathtaking Catwalk Show presented the latest bridal trends from the finest boutiques in the region including Accent Original Bridal House, Berketex, First Glance, Kathryn Russell, Si Bridal & Co, Something Special and The Wedding Studio. Beautiful bridal gowns were complemented by suave groomswear from Moss Bros and Youngs Hire, while bridesmaid inspiration and occasionwear was provided by names including Kate Fearnley Bridal, who showcased their 1950’s inspired collection.
The finishing touches were provided by Catherine Elizabeth International Hair & Makeup, who created beautiful bridal hair styles and makeup looks. Floral Design by Anthony provided exquisite bridal bouquets to complement each dress and Kathryn Russell completed each look with her exquisitely embellished vintage inspired accessories.
In between each Catwalk Show, former Pop Idol finalist Aaron Bayley and his band entertained the crowds with their exciting repertoire of music, performing everything from leading love songs to upbeat party music.
The show’s host of experts took centre stage at the Experts Theatre to provide brides and grooms with essential wedding advice and inspiration. The UK’s leading bridal coach Michele Paradise returned this season, revealing her top tips and tricks to help brides look and feel their best inside and out on their big day, with workshops on everything from ‘How to work the camera’, to ‘Find a shoe that fits and improve your posture forever’.
Commenting on the success of this season’s show, Chris Burns, Operations Controller of Youngs Hire said: “We are delighted with how the show has gone! It’s great having an autumn show in addition to spring, as we have seen a whole new audience of brides and grooms getting married towards the end of next year and beyond. We love taking part in The North East Wedding Show! It’s without a doubt the biggest and best event the region, which is why we always come back. We’ve already booked in for next year!”
Claire Gould, Director of All Wrapped UP, enthused: “The show has been absolutely brilliant! There’s a fantastic footfall of visitors here and we’ve had loads of interest in our range of products and services. We have seen brides and grooms who have travelled a distance to be here and we’re chuffed with the response and we’ve had this weekend. We hope to return to the show in spring with an even bigger and better stand!”
The North East Wedding Show will return to Metro Radio Arena on 24th-25th January 2015
