The Big Treat Seat The Big Treat Seat, standing 1.8 metres high, is coming to town on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May from 11am until 4pm between Boots and John Lewis. It will offer customers the chance to win fabulous spot prizes, including intu gift cards, sunglasses, perfume, and lots more. Simply kick up your feet in our Big Treat Seat and share a snap on Twitter or Instagram, tagging @intueldonsquare and using #intuBigTreat for your chance to win. The Big Treat Beauty Retreat The Big Treat Beauty Retreat is on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May between Boots and John Lewis Also taking place on the same weekend, you can join Pinkbow.net’s beauty blogger Paula Bowron from 11am until 4pm for the latest beauty tips and must-have products from the world of cosmetics. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore some brand new styles ahead of the long-overdue British summer. Beauty specialists Smashbox and No. 7 from Boots will also be offering special treats throughout the weekend. In addition to the beauty activities, children can meet giant mascot Puddle the duck, who will be offering families a free child’s swimming session and the chance to enter a competition to win ten free swimming lessons. Children are also invited to put on their dancing shoes and learn to street dance with SwanKenney Theatreworks. Visitors will also have the chance to win one of five taster sessions as well as tickets to The Lambton Worm at The Tyne Theatre and Opera House. The Big Treat Food Fair This event is on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May near Debenhams from 11am until 4pm. We’ll be cooking up a storm at our free two-day cookery road show, hosted by former Masterchef finalist David Hall. With competitions, entertainment and free samples, we really are putting on quite the feast. Kicking off festivities, the Great intu Eldon Square Cake-Off will return by popular demand following its debut last year. The baking competition will see five finalists battle it out to become the competition’s latest champion and secure a host of prizes. The winner will receive a £200 intu Eldon Square gift card, plus the opportunity to have their cake on the afternoon tea menu at Café Royal, as well as enjoying a champagne afternoon tea to celebrate. The judges, led by Head Judge Gavin Groombridge, Head Chef of Café Royal, Nelson Street, will also include last year’s Cake Off Winner Richard Hunton, and intu Eldon Square’s General Manager Phil Steele. Taking place on the Sunday, Guest Wines will be celebrating English Wine Week by showcasing a wide range of wines. They will also be offering customers an exclusive discount as well as giving you the chance to win a lovely bottle of English bubbly in a ‘Guess the Corks’ competition. Throughout the entire weekend, many of the centre’s restaurants and foodie stores will be tantalising your taste buds, offering you the chance to enjoy delicious dishes and take away some inspiring recipes to try at home. Newcastle West End Food Bank During the whole of the month of May, we will be collecting donations on behalf of the Newcastle West End Food Bank. We’re asking specifically for donations of tins of meat, fish and tomatoes to be brought to the Customer Service Desks. Shoppers giving donations will receive a voucher to be entered into a free prize draw to win a £100 intu Gift Card.
