St Patrick's Day Festival comes to Newcastle

Celebrate St Patrick's Day like never before at Paddy Fest this St Patrick's Day!

This St Patricks Day, Times Square, (located in the heart of Newcastle, next to Central Station) will host it’s first ever Irish beer and music festival. 4000 people are expected to descend on the festival site for a full day and night of beer, Guinness, live rugby, live music and more! The first of two sessions kicks off at 11am with the first pint of the day accompanied by a traditional 'Ulster fry' breakfast- to prepare you for the festivities ahead.

The day continues with a showing of the England vs. Ireland Six Nations rugby match at 3pm on the biggest LED screen in the city, inside the giant, bespoke, Irish-themed marquee. Ale and food will be served throughout. The entire soiree will be soundtracked by a programme of live musicians and traditional Irish bands, culminating with DJ’s to keep you dancing away into the night.

The fun, games and food will continue until 11pm, with local vendors including Scream for Pizza and Meat:Stack serving a hog roast and some of the finest food in the North. Irish coffees and Espresso Martini’s are also on offer from local coffee fanatics Laneways while the ‘Moxie’ Citroen drinks van will be serving craft ales and prosecco.

PaddyFest is the brainchild of two of the Newcastle's most respected and well known event promoters, Mike Hesketh (MishMash Events) and Gabriel Day (Apex Events), who have joined forces to serve up the one big St Patrick’s Day event that Newcastle is in need of!

Mike states: “I had been looking at doing the event for a long time, but when myself and Gabriel realised that this year not only did it fall on a Saturday, but it was also the final day of the Six Nations Rugby Tournament in which England play Ireland, it struck me that if there was any year to do it, it would be this year!”

Gabriel added: “We can't wait for a full day of Irish festivities. Guinness and beer, together with traditional and modern Irish bands all under one huge marque tent is the perfect mix for a special day, for everyone to celebrate!”

There will be just 2000 advanced tickets available for both the day time session (11am-6pm) and also the evening session (6pm-close) priced at just £5 + booking fee from www.PaddyFest.co.uk
