St Patrick's Day Dinner for under a tenner!

Visitors at a leading North East bar will be embracing the luck of the Irish with a special deal this St Patrick’s Day (17 March).
 

The award-winning City Tavern at Northumberland Road, Newcastle, has created a special meal deal for visitors embracing the cultural celebration on Friday. 
 

The offer, which comes in at less than £10, includes an authentic home-made Irish stew served with crusty bread, a premium pint of Murphy’s Irish Stout as well as a Jameson’s Irish Whiskey chaser.
 

And City Tavern’s owner, David King is looking forward to serving up the Irish dishes to the people of Newcastle.
 

“My family originally hails from Sligo in Ireland so I love to get involved in the St Patrick’s Day festivities,” he said.
 

“We’re looking forward to bringing a little taste of Ireland to the heart of Newcastle and with an Irish pint, shot and homemade dish for £9.95 – you really can’t go wrong.”
 

The items can also be bought separately, with the Irish stew and crusty bread priced at £5 and Murphy’s pint with the whiskey chaser for £4.95.
 

City Tavern, widely recognised for its Tudor style façade, was taken over by Mr King in 2014 and has had a £450,000 refurbishment to create a modern bar while still retaining the venue’s historic features.
