Rave On: The Ultimate 50s & 60s Experience

Charting the meteoric rise of Rock and Roll, Rave On is a vibrant and youthful show that promises a thrilling tour through music’s most revolutionary decades, joining the Tyne Theatre & Opera House on Friday 17th October 2025.

From the emergence of Rock and Roll at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee to the British Invasion and beyond, Rave On is a musical adventure presented in authentic concert style.

With every note played live on stage, Rave On proudly features an array of the UK’s finest young rock and roll musicians. Rave On presents iconic hits of the 1950s and 60s - Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, Connie Francis, Eddie Cochran to Little Richard, Roy Orbison, Lulu, Cliff Richard and so many more. As well as classic rock and roll chart-toppers, Rave On also touches on other formative musical genres like skiffle and rhythm and blues. The production leaves no stone unturned on its winding path through the history of our popular musical heritage.

Members of the Rave On band have performed on an international stage where a particular highlight was being asked to play at Buddy Holly’s birthday celebration in Lubbock, Texas in front of Buddy’s family, his widow Maria Elena and guitar legend Duane Eddy, who described the band as “Fantastic” and the “Real Deal”.

Show creators and band members Dan Graham and Oliver Seymour Marsh rewrite and refine the show on an annual basis, ensuring returning fans are never disappointed.

Speaking about their show Rave On, which now dives into the 1960s as well as the 1950s, Oliver says “We’ve had the chance to explore material we’d not covered before and to create a show which moves into this exciting ‘new’ decade.

We never want to lose sight of our roots in the 1950s, of course, the story of rock and roll starts here, but we asked ourselves how could we now explore the way music travelled globally throughout the next decade? We stop around 1966, just before psychedelia turns up. Who knows, maybe that’ll be our next show”.

Dan adds; “We are so excited to be touring the show, every new venue has been a joy! Every note of Rave On is played live on stage with as much faith to the original recordings as we could find. We love these songs as much as the audiences do and hope to play a part in keeping them alive for new generations to discover!"
