Poleroid Theatre Presents… WRITE IT : MIC IT An Open ‘Write’ Night

Venue: Live Theatre Newcastle, Broad Chare, Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 3DQ Date: 21st May 2016 Times: Doors 7pm Tickets: £5 Box office: (0191) 232 1232 Poleroid Theatre are inviting the North-East’s emerging and established playwrights, comedians, spoken word artists & sketch groups to test out new work at the first stage of it's development, in front of an audience in the dynamic, eclectic, nurturing environment of WRITE IT : MIC IT.
The night will be headlined by Soho Theatre and BAFTA nominated writer, comedian and performer Gabriel Bisset-Smith, ending with a live DJ set from Delta Venus.
Poleroid have given opportunities to over 100 emerging and celebrated artists since launching WRITE IT : MIC IT in 2012 and after four years of popular events at the Paines Plough Roundabout, Vault Festival London, Hackney Attic, Manchester Castle Hotel & Wilderness Festival, Poleroid are bringing their acclaimed night to Live Theatre Newcastle for the first time this May.

Nominated for three Off-West End Theatre Awards, Poleroid Theatre is working to discover and develop the contemporary image of emerging artists in the UK. Recent work includes The Locker Outings (5 new plays for Vault Festival by Sarah Kosar, Helen Russell-Clark, Jonathan Schey, Vinay Patel and Andrew Thompson); Write It : Mic It (Paines Plough Roundabout/Vault/Hackney Attic/Castle Hotel/Wilderness Festival); Plastic by Kenneth Emson (Latitude Festival 2015); Free Fall by Vinay Patel (Triple Off-West End Theatre Award nominated, Pleasance, published by Methuen Drama).
Poleroid will be producing Write It : Mic It at Standon Calling Festival and the Paines Plough Roundabout, Edinburgh in Summer 2016.
Poleroid will also be producing The Ballad of The Pirate, The Talking Horse and The Monkey a new play by Luke Barnes, Brad Birch and Kenneth Emson for Latitude Festival 2016.
