Pawsecco for pampered pooches at City bar

City Tavern adds a new twist to their menu with unique beverages for its four-legged friends with a classy Pawsecco option!
Pampered Pooches with a taste for the high life are in for a treat at a popular Newcastle bar.
The award-winning City Tavern at Northumberland Road, Newcastle - which is renowned for being dog friendly - has added to its unique menu of beverages for its four-legged friends with a classy Pawsecco option.
Created by pet drinks specialists Woof & Brew, the non-alcoholic Pawsecco is available in both Pet-House White and Pet-House Rosé and uses natural ingredients including elderflower, nettle, ginseng and lime flower.
The sophisticated still wine, which is also suitable for cats, is described as “the purrfect treat for those on four feet” and can be poured over food or served as a drink to canine companions at the bar.
And City Tavern owner, David King, is delighted to have another option available for man’s best friend.
“We already have a doggy beer available at City Tavern, which is very popular among our four-legged clientele,” he said.
“However, we wanted something for the pooches who are less partial to a pint and would rather opt for a glass of class.
“The Pawsecco was only recently launched at Crufts 2017 and it’s already a hit among the canine community, so we’re looking forward to introducing it to the dogs of Newcastle.”
A dog lover himself, David also provides plenty of treats including biscuits flavoured with everything from Scottish salmon to country game, venison chews and fruit and vegetable flavoured snacks.
Pooches can even enjoy their own bottle of Belgian Snuffles Dog Beer – which is non-alcoholic and made with beef and chicken along with malt barley extracts, minerals and vitamins.
City Tavern, widely recognised for its Tudor style façade, was taken over by Mr King early in 2014 and then enjoyed a £450k refurbishment to create a state-of-the-art bar while still retaining the venue’s historic features.
