Northern Lights Newcastle Announces Festive Feast of Local Flavours for 2025

The most magical event of the year just got even tastier! As Northern Lights Newcastle prepares to illuminate the city’s iconic Leazes Park for its third year, a flavour-packed line-up of local street food favourites will transform the Christmas Village into a festive feast for all.
Returning from 27th November to 31st December, Leazes Park will once again become a glowing winter wonderland, complete with 14 brand-new illuminations and never-before-seen displays, all synchronised to bespoke soundtracks. For the first time, the event will feature a reversed trail route, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
Whether warming up with a mulled wine or high chocolate, indulging in mouth-watering street food, or toasting marshmallows over open fires, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Visitors can expect an array of local street food traders, including:
- The Street Diner – A new addition for 2025, serving hearty Yorkshire pudding wraps with all the festive trimmings alongside coffee and doughnuts for something sweet.
- The Impeccable Pig – Making their Christmas Village debut, bringing their iconic barbecue pulled pork-loaded burgers to the trail.
- 40 Ounce Burgers – Returning for a second year, these viral sensations are bringing their famous, North East-loved burgers to the heart of the Christmas Village.
- Truly Madly Pizza – Back for another year, serving fresh, wood-fired pizzas guaranteed to hit the spot.

And that’s just the start. Two themed bars provide the perfect spot to warm up and grab a much-needed refreshment under the dazzling lights. Visitors can also enjoy Marshmallow Land, where they can toast marshmallows by the firepits for a festive, interactive treat.
Roxy Robinson, Creative Director of From The Fields, the company behind Northern Lights Newcastle, said: “Food has always been a huge part of the Northern Lights Newcastle experience. We’re proud to showcase some of the North East’s most loved independent traders, each bringing their own twist on festive favourites and comfort food. It’s wonderful to welcome back familiar faces loved by visitors and to introduce new vendors who’ll add even more magic to this year’s experience.”
Jamie Pagett from Redheads Mac N Cheese, added: “Northern Lights has been such a success over the past two years, and we’re thrilled to return for a third magical Christmas. We can’t wait to be part of this amazing family event – and of course, we’ll be serving our finest Mac n Cheese to keep everyone warm and full of cheer!”
