NORTH EAST HOTEL BOOSTS VISITOR NUMBERS IN THE CHINESE YEAR OF THE HORSE ....

As the only hotel in the North East of England with a lifesize horse sculpture in reception, The Sandman Hotel which is located right next to China Town in Newcastle is hoping it will bring good luck at this year's Chinese New Year celebrations as 2014 is the Chinese Year of the Horse - and boost visitor numbers to the city at the same time. Celebrations will take place all day from 11am til 4pm in China Town on Sunday the 9th of February and will include the spectacular dragon, lion and unicorn dances under the Chinese Ceremonial Arch.  Shireen Rowley, Business Development Manager at the Sandman Hotel quoted "visitors really do look twice when they arrive in reception, our lifesize beautiful horse sculpture really does stop guests in their tracks.  Chinese New Year is such a colourful and joyous occasion, we really hope to attract many visitors to the city. We currently receive large amount of visitors staying at the hotel when they are visiting Chinese students". Located directly next to China Town in Gallowgate, Newcastle; the hotel is offering a hugely reduced room rate of £59 to encourage visits to stay over in the city.
