North East Company Brings First Class Fashion To

A NORTH EAST fashion company set up to promote the hottest new home-grown designers and elevate the world's freshest talent,  will host an exclusive event at the Civic Centre in Newcastle next month in its bid to discover the next Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier. A group of the most talented, new and upcoming fashion designers and stylists will showcase at the upcoming Elévon World event on April 11th -  bringing together the cream of the UK's emerging designing crop under one roof for an exclusive night of stunning catwalk shows, fashion and beauty advice and interactive interviews with the stars of tomorrow. Elévon, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, was set up by 23 year-old Cairo born fashion guru Rita Roushdy in 2013, who fell in love with the region having studied Fashion Product & Promotion at the University of Sunderland. The company, which hosts sell out events throughout the region - including a recent 400 capacity star studded event the Civic Centre in Newcastle - has went from strength to strength in the past year and has already set its sights on providing budding designers the chance to showcase their work on the national and international stage. Speaking ahead of the forthcoming event, Rita Roushdy, said: “I feel that the fashion culture is constantly growing within the North East.” “There are more and more new designers graduating from Northern based universities and the talent here has great potential. I just feel the need to show the whole world what those people are capable of achieving. “Although Elévon is North East based, designers from all around the world are welcome to apply to showcase. I have a strong love for the exhilarating feeling of the fashion show coming together. Witnessing other people achieve great success through Elévon, is a tremendous feeling; I am a big believer in dreams and I love helping other people reach them whatever the cost may be.” Elévon, a name inspired by aerodynamics, started out life as a marketing tool for Ms Roushdy's own clothing label ‘Rita Roushdy’, where she organised fashion shows to promote her own collection twice a year. But as the talented businesswoman delved deeper, and the attendances for her shows began to grow, she became aware of the struggles emerging designers have in attracting attention and interest in their work. Ms Roushdy went on to set up Elévon as a tool for like minded and talented designers to have a genuine platform for them to be noticed and all participants receive hands on advice, gain industry contacts crucial to their success and get business advice to drive sales revenue and increase brand awareness. The company, which already employs 25 people, including a professional backstage, front of house and office team, has a string of high profile shows already booked and will in the next 12 months host events on the national and international stage. Ms Roushdy, added: “Elévon is a platform for emerging designers to showcase their latest collection in front of hundreds of audience, journalists, bloggers, radio and TV press. “Fashion driven people attend Elévon to learn about the upcoming trends, who is entering the industry and what their brand identity is. “Elévon provides the perfect opportunity to expand a designers' clothing brand. We are planning on organising lingerie only shows next and rest assured I have enough ideas and plans to expand this company to a whole new level very quickly.” The next Elévon event will take place at the Civic Centre in Newcastle on April 11th at 7pm.
