Tickets from £8.50 (concessions from £7.50) Newcastle’s Tyneside Cinema is inviting audiences to nominate their favourite romantic film for Valentine’s Day. The movie with the most votes will be shown on the big screen on the evening of Thursday 14 February 2013. Audiences can vote for their favourite romantic film online now at www.tynesidecinema.co.uk/love. Voting closes at 5pm on Thursday 31 January and the winning film will be announced on Tuesday 5 February. This is the fifth year Tyneside Cinema has invited audiences to vote for their favourite film for Valentine’s Day, and previous years have seen a diverse range of winners, including Once, Before Sunrise, The Notebook and When Harry Met Sally. Everyone who attends the screening of the North East’s favourite romantic film on Valentine’s Day will receive complimentary luxury chocolate courtesy of Traidcraft, the UK’s leading fair trade organisation. A selection of special Valentine’s Day themed cocktails and special offers in the Tyneside Bar will also be available throughout the week. This year Tyneside Cinema will also be marking Valentine’s Day by showing screen legend Audrey Hepburn’s iconic romantic comedy Breakfast at Tiffany’s (PG) on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 February. Film fans looking for something a bit different can enjoy three anti-Valentine films for free on Tuesday 12, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 February as part of the Cinema’s Free Film Night programme in the Tyneside Bar.
