Newcastle’s Grey Street Continental Market supports local hospice

The popular Grey Street Continental Christmas Market has returned to Newcastle and this year, it has a very special guest! For the first time, the market, which opens on Saturday 15th November and runs until Saturday 29th November on Grey Street and Grainger Street in the town centre, will feature a Santa’s Grotto. The Grotto will be run by staff and volunteers from St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth, Newcastle. Santa will be welcoming families into his festive Grotto from Saturday 15th- Thursday 27th November, 10am-5pm on weekends and 2pm-5.30pm on weekdays. Entry to see Santa costs £5 per child and includes a gift and letter from Mr Claus himself, with all proceeds going to the Hospice. The market offers a range of stalls with food from around Europe, giving shoppers the chance to try some tasty continental foods, including currywurst from Germany, waffles from Holland and paella from Spain.
