New Tyneside Restaurant Pops Up in Newcastle City Centre
North East people can get into the fiesta spirit, with a chance to experience what a new Tyneside restaurant has to offer.
Tia’s Mexican Cantina will be bringing an authentic taste of Tex Mex to Newcastle city centre, when it opens its doors at The Gate early next month (sept).
And to highlight the Tia’s experience, the owners are organising a pop-up photobooth at Grainger Street on Saturday 15 August where passers-by can get snapped in a Mexican hat – and receive a discount voucher for food.
Everyone who calls in to the booth can have their picture taken by a professional photographer from GA Media– which includes the option for being one of Tia’s “lime smile” specials – with the images shared on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Anyone interested in then welcome to share them via their own channels, tagging in Tia’s.
And as a thank you the restaurant – which is expanding after running a successful similar operation in Durham – will give anyone who takes part a voucher to get 20 per cent discount off their food order when Tia’s opens.
“There’s been so much interest in Tia’s and we can’t wait to open,” said Steven Martin, one of the co-owners.
“The restaurant is looking fantastic with a real Mexican feel and we wanted to share our excitement.
“Hopefully passers-by will pop in and grab the opportunity to have their picture taken and become part of the Tia’s family.”
Once open, diners will be able to enjoy a whole host of authentic dishes including enchiladas, quesadillas, tortillas, fajitas, burritos and chimichangas.
A firm favourite at Durham has also been added to the menu – Tia’s famous crispy onion rose to share.
A large variety of tequilas will be on the drinks menu, with special sharing platters and children’s options also available.
