New Dining Experiences on the Menu at Newcastle Hotels

TWO of Newcastle’s leading boutique hotels are helping put the city on the map for culinary experiences this spring with the launch of their latest menus.

Malmaison, located on the Quayside, is welcoming food lovers with two exclusive offers, while the nearby Hotel du Vin is set to launch its Late Spring Menu in the coming weeks.

Diners at Malmaison can enjoy a taste of summer with a Mediterranean Tasting Experience in Chez Mal, created in collaboration with premium Spanish brand Gin Mare and available until June 17.

Priced at £69pp, diners are welcomed with Gordal olives, before a starter of serrano ham and grilled red peppers, paired with a Mediterranean G&T. This is followed by a main course of tiger prawns, white crab and fennel pastis linguine, served with a Gin Mare mojito, before the meal ends with a delicious lemon sorbet, paired with an Amalfi Spritz.

Steak-lovers, meanwhile, can enjoy 50 per cent off every Thursday night, with a 220g flat iron for £13, a 250g New York strip for £14.50 and a 200g fillet steak for £19.50 - available when purchasing two courses.

Hotel du Vin, located just a short walk from the Quayside, has long been known for its French cuisine with a British twist - and is launching its Late Spring Menu on Wednesday, May 6.

A sophisticated selection of seasonal flavours and refined dishes, the menu launch coincides with the start of al fresco dining at Bistro du Vin for the summer months.

The new menu opens with  a selection of Amuse-Bouches and Hors D'Oeuvres, with favourites such as Jambon Persille, Rilletes de Saumon and Langoustines a la Provencale.

Main courses - or Plats Principaux - include Entrecôte au Poivre, Poussin Basquaise and Croupe d’Agneau Épicée, while desserts include favourites like Creme Brulee, Valrhona Pot de Chocolat and Tarte au Citron.
