NE1’S SPACE 2.... WORLD CUP BATTLE BETWEEN POLICE AND KIDS
NE1’s Space 2…centre for young people in Newcastle, is staging its own FIFA (Xbox) championship between the young people who use the centre, the NE1 Street Rangers and representatives of Northumbria Police’s city centre team.
Every Wednesday during the World Cup tournament, Space2… will be buzzing with its very own World Cup atmosphere as participants compete to secure the coveted Space 2.. FIFA title. The event has been so popular that all of the participating places are already fully booked.
NE1’s Space2…regularly hosts FIFA and Xbox competitions which run alongside the centre’s courses, homework clubs and careers advice for the 1500 members who have registered with the centre since it opened over a year ago. The World Cup FIFA competition is different though as it has been organised entirely by the kids themselves who are delighted the Street Rangers and Police have taken up the challenge to compete for the title.
The competition provides a fantastic opportunity for the Police and Rangers to interact with the young people and to have a bit of fun.
Each Wednesday there is a £50 intu Eldon Square gift voucher up for grabs for the tournament winner as well as bragging rights for the victors.
